A Philippine Storm Leaves Over 106 Dead

Archipelago’s can be very dangerous places to be when huge storms hits.

Some of the islands barely sit very far above sea level. That’s right; they are technically not that much above the actual level of the sea. So when a huge storm dumps tons of water on such a small island in a short period of time, accompanied by massive waves, there is little the people can do but hang on and try to survive. Mud slides are also another danger than kill many people on islands such as this when large storms hit.

People in paces like this where tragedy strikes need your help. Typically something we take for granted here, like constant electrical power, has been lost and their food supplies end up destroyed or compromised by the storms. So what can you do? Look for some government run organizations that take aid to these people, or a private organization that you can trust. Things like food, portable light fixtures, blankets and clothes can be huge in a time of need.

Now the next time you see a headline like this, remember there are people in need of help, reach out and do something about it.
