Have you ever seen the film Castaway? Many people have seen this film about Tom Hanks being stranded on an island for years. Could you ever imagine being stranded on an island for that long? Most people could not. Imagine literally not having any of the comforts from home, none at all. You get a minor cut at home you reach for the peroxide and a band-aid to help fight a possible infection. If it rains and you’re out you can pop up an umbrella.

There are so many comforts we take for granted. If you ended up a castaway on an island, it would not take very long for you to realize how great and convenient it is to have all the things that we have.

Some people also tend to romanticize a situation like this. No thanks! Can you imagine being stranded somewhere, by yourself and having no clue if anyone would ever find you again?

Emotionally people would struggle; physically it would even get harder. You would have to hunt, make fire with no matches, the list would be endless. So the next time you think you could do it, plan a camping trip with no resources, just the land and see how you do. Just make sure people know where you are and what you’re doing.
