So how many out there truly dream of living on an island? Usually it is retired people or people that just truly love the beaches that want to do so. There are also probably a ton of us out there that have no clue what we want bit think living on an island would be amazing. And it can be amazing to live on an island. This article even put together a top 5 list of islands that they feel are the best to live on.

Are there hazards though? Like anywhere, there can be. Now some I may not exactly call hazards- like there may be a few too many fast food joints. Local cultures and foods can be tough for some to get used to. If you love chicken fried steak and pizza, Thai food may take some time to get used to! But other than that we will look at a few items that may make this dream a little less of reality for most.

The biggest problem for the average person is the cost!!!!! Home can easily run over a couple of hundred thousand. It’s just unattainable in many cases. In some places like the Bahamas it’s even more expensive.

In my opinion the real hazards are hurricanes and tsunamis. They can be a huge threat, even life threatening. At least a hurricane gives you some warning it is coming. A tsunami on the other hand may not.

So before you dream on, consider what it is you’re dreaming truly about!
