More Island Justice

There are tons of different cultures and legal systems throughout the entire world. These legal systems carry their own weight when it comes to dealing out justice for a crime that has been committed. Crimes in many parts of the country can sometimes end up with a swift judgment as to whether the person is guilty or not. If you are, for example, taking a long vacation on a remote island and say you end up in a small car accident that injures a local person, you could end up being thrown in jail or have heavy fines thrown at you swiftly and without a formal trial.

Certainly many of these islands are not behind the times; it is just that they do things differently than we are used to in this country. You need to have a basic understanding of the laws that the island has. You need to understand what it is that you can and cannot do if you were found guilty of a small crime, whether or not you did this act on purpose or not. The key is to be careful and respect the locals and the laws that they have set forth to protect them.
