Believe it or not islands can be an amazing place to find some natural resources. In the Falkland Islands right now, a huge drilling project for oil just got a bit of bad news though. The findings of the first well were that the oil was of poor quality. Nevertheless, more wells will be drilled to see if better quality oil will be found. This happens on many islands. At first glance experts never really considered certain islands for this type of use. They focused inland and that was really it. But now that there is more competition and many more companies out there trying to make it in business, they are looking all over the globe for these naturally occurring resources.

But with some islands not being very large, experts also say that you have to be careful harnessing too much from them. Too much drilling and taking of other natural resources can be damaging to any eco system. The land can become over worked and it can end up damaging it. But companies sometimes do not care. They are on the hunt for the things that we around the world use a ton of. The more of these things that we use on a daily basis the more that needs to be found, and many will do what it takes to find it.
