The rainy seasons can really wreak havoc in certain areas. Here in the US we can deal with conditions that can be wetter than others tend to be. Sometimes systems can bring in weeks of rain causing flooding and lots of damage. But in some areas they have true rainy seasons where it can rain constantly week after week for months at a time.

In one sense they are used to this and they know it may happen, but imagine what it can mean for some island areas. Islands can tend to have quite a few low lying areas depending on where you are. They also can be found to be barely above sea level. These types of conditions can accelerate the chances of flooding. Islands with mountainous type terrain in the islands middle lands can hurt things also. Rain in the mountains must come down, and when they do they can cause lands slides and other problems to villages at their base.

So if you think you want an island adventure vacation, consider where it is that you may go. You will want to make sure you do not end up somewhere during the rainy season. It may be best to consider checking with some experts from the area you choose before going.
