Island Volcanoes

Volcanoes have always in history been a huge and destructive force. They can change an entire several mile landscape with a huge eruption in a flash. They can also blanket massive areas with their ash and smoke. A volcano in Ireland right now is cutting air travel to much of Europe thanks to its huge ash cloud. This disruption has gone on for days and does not show signs of letting up. Volcanoes in the past have also brought about tons of superstition and myths with them.
