Maldives Going For Wind Power

Even though the islands of the Maldives are in threat of possibly being 100% under water within a hundred years, they still plan to try and set a high level of presence when it comes to alternative sources of power.

They want to become the world’s first carbon neutral country. This is large in part because they feel that global warming and us polluting the planet is causing many of their problems. They have decided not to go down without fighting. They are now planning a wind farm to harvest energy straight from the wind.

They want the world to see that they are serious when it comes to saving the planet. No matter what may happen to them, no matter what leading scientists have told them, they feel there is still time to do something and that time is now.

By harvesting power from the wind, they can power most of the island with the power they get from the wind farms. Imagine your home lighting, fridges, computers and TV all powered by the wind. This is a concept most of us do not understand.
