The best job in the world would be a tough thing to really pinpoint down to one job only. Many people feel that they have the best job in the world depending on what they do and where they do it. Recently a contest gave one person a chance to get this type of job. They dubbed it the best job in the world. Basically they would manage and run a resort on a very remote island. We are not talking about a resort that houses and holds thousands and thousands of guests. Rather this was a smaller retreat that only so many guests at once could visit.

What made it supposedly the best is the fact that there was not that much work to be done. Also you got to be on this amazing and beautiful island during that time period. Basically you lived there and ate for free. Was it really the best job in the world? At the time it sure seemed like it could have been for the person that won. Islands certainly can be amazing places to visit for those that love to be near the water.

There are concerns in many parts of the world that many islands could begin to disappear under the sea. This has happened to many smaller islands before. Sometimes they can get washed away with the tides or storms. But the big concern right now is the rising sea levels. The rising of sea levels is a huge concern for many of the world’s islands. Many of these islands sit barely above sea level. Just enough that people can make a home on them. Some of them may be inhabited by people, but are often sanctuaries for many animal and plant species.

One island chain is called the Maldives. They know they are in lots of trouble. They predict in a century or so that the island chain will be under water if the world does not stop polluting the planet. Certainly as individuals we can help to do our part. But it is obvious that bigger business and many industries must pitch in and stop polluting the planet at such an intense and dense level. So if you are considering a move to an island, you may want to research where they stand when it comes to their position in the ocean.

Have you ever been on a cruise? Cruises can be so much fun. There are huge dinner buffets, great performances and lots of other things to do. One of the great things about cruises is the fact that you can stop off at multiple islands along your tour. No, you may not stay long at each one, but the time you do spend there can be truly wonderful. You can stop in to have a nice local meal. You can do some shopping in the nearby villages or towns, or just stop off on the beach and do some swimming and relaxing on the sands. Now if you’re in the market to rent a space to live, have you ever actually considered renting an island? That is right; you can actually rent your own island. You can actually buy one as well. Renting one can be more affordable than you think though. They usually run about a few hundred or more per week. They will more than likely have some sort of place to stay and so on. Talk about a getaway. I mean if you think about it, some vacations cost lots more than this.

If you love to travel, then on your list of favorite places to go will more than likely include some sort of island getaway. It really depends on what you’re in the mood for. Maybe if you’re in the mood for adventure, then heading to an island where you can explore the inner parts of the island may suit your needs. If you just want to lounge on the beach, maybe heading to an island that is known for its beautiful waters and amazing sandy beaches will be better.
